Sylvie Fontaine, chair of NECN indicated that the main objective of the project is to stimulate economic growth for snowmobile tourism operators, stakeholders and organizations throughout the region. “Snowmobiling has a significant impact on our local economy and it is critical that we cultivate strategies to foster long-term growth and prosperity of the tourism sector.”

Over the next several months, NECN will be seeking feedback from snowmobilers, clubs, volunteers, tourism operators, local businesses and community stakeholders regarding snowmobile tourism within the region. An industry survey seeking feedback from snowmobile stakeholder and riders is currently underway and a series of focus group sessions are scheduled to take place later this month. The overarching goal is to identify potential tourism development opportunities and strategies within the region.
